Dorothy J. Picciuto, age 74, of Tiffin, Ohio, died July 26, 2002. She was born June 3, 1928, in Cromers, Ohio, to William and Margaret (Smith) Bitler. On January 5, 1948, in Indiana, she married Salvator Picciuto. He died January 17, 1998. Survivors include a son, Douglas (Judy) Picciuto; a nephew, Donald Bitler, whom Dorothy and Salvator raised as a son from the age of nine years old; 2 sisters, Virginia Newton and Mary Kay West; 2 brothers, Bruce and Calvin Bitler; 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a sister, Claudine Thallman, and a brother, Robert Bitler. Mrs. Picciuto was retired from General Electric Company, Tiffin, and had also been dairy manager and union steward at Foodtown. She was a 1945 graduate of Old Fort High School, and had attended nurse's training for one year in Frederick, Maryland. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin.
Burial is in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Hospice Care of Tiffin.
