Dorothy “Carol” Bain, 83, of Tiffin, died at 6:16 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2019, at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky. She was born June 21, 1935, in Tiffin to Reuben and Gail Marie (Kear) Elchert. She married Robert Bain, February, 8, 1955, in California. He died July 28, 1987.
Survivors include three sons, Don (Laura) Bain of McCutchenville, Jeff Bain of Obetz, Ohio, and John (Pam) Bain of Fortson, Georgia; four daughters, Diana Rumschlag of Tiffin, Lori (Brett) Hoerig of Marysville, Linda (Chad) Helms of Cygnet and Debbie (Doug) Ranker of Haskins; numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren, and a brother, Robert Elchert of Tiffin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Bill Bain in 1995, three infant children, and a brother Don Elchert.
Carol was a 1953 Calvert High School graduate, she was a homemaker, ran a home day care, and cared for her children and grandchildren. She was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Visitation for family and friends will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at the Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419)-447-3113, with a Wake service at 6 p.m.
Prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at the funeral home followed by the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. The rosary will be recited 20 minutes prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
