Doris C. Echelberry, 75, of Madison, WI, formerly of Republic, died Saturday, July 1, 2006, in Oregon Manor Nursing Home, Oregon, WI.
She was born on January 25, 1931 in Melmore, Ohio to the late Joseph and Alice (Kunkle) May. On August 27, 1966 at the First Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky she married Daryl Echelberry, who died on September 7, 1972.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Doris (Dodie) Echelberry of Madison, WI, and Darlene (Jay) Stietz of Browntown, WI; 2 brothers, Donald (Judy) May, and Kenneth May, both of Sycamore, OH.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Albert & Robert May, and 2 Foster brothers, Esley and Paul May, and a sister-in-law, Marge May.
A 1950 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, she worked at Bazley's Meat Market for 10 years, worked as a nurse's aide at Ruffing Family Care Center for 13 years, was a home health aide for Caring Friends of Republic and a farmer for many years.
Mrs. Echelberry was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Upper Sandusky, the Union Grange, where she taught, a member of the Pythian Sisters and Daughters of America.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 am Saturday, July 8, 2006, at the Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113, with Rev. Julianne Smith officiating. Burial will be in Fairwell-Retreat Cemetery, Republic. Friends may call Friday, July 7, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, at the funeral home.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Wisconsin, First Lutheran Church of Upper Sandusky, or to the Hope Animal Shelter of Upper Sandusky.
