Donald Jay Steinmetz, age 39, of Hall St., Tiffin, died Friday, February 9, 2007, at his brother’s residence in Tiffin.
He was born November 4, 1967, in Tiffin, to Donald and Nadine (Sauber) Steinmetz. His mother survives in Tiffin. On October 12, 2002, in Florida, he married Michelle Archer, and she survives.
Also surviving are a son, Joshua Steinmetz of Tiffin; a daughter, Samantha Steinmetz of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; a stepson, Brandon Bogner of Tiffin; a grandson, Gaige Bogner; a granddaughter, Kaylee Stevens; four brothers, Pete Steinmetz of Tiffin, Philip Steinmetz of Tiffin, Joel (Frances) Steinmetz of Upper Sandusky, and Steve (Kellie) Steinmetz of Bloomville; and a sister, Jenifer (Mike) SanGregory of Tiffin.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Steinmetz.
Mr. Steinmetz was a 1985 graduate of Calvert High School and attended Stautzenberger College for two years. He was a shipping and receiving supervisor at Laminate Technologies. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Eagles, and the Tiffin Browns Backers.
The Funeral Mass will be 10am Thursday, February 15, 2007 at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Rev. David M. Ross officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 pm Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113. Parish Wake Services will be Wednesday at 3:45 pm at the funeral home. The Rosary will be recited 15 minutes prior to the Mass.
Memorials may be made to Our Lady of the Pines Retreat Center, Fremont.
The Celebration of Life Tribute will be available for viewing on Wednesday.
