Donald was born Sept. 26, 1942. to Jess and Mossie (Gilbert) Poore in Middlesboro, Ky. He married Laura Clark in Bellevue, Oct. 5, 1963 and she survives.
Other survivors include a son, Donald R. (Shari) Poore, Jr. of Clyde; two grandchildren, Sarah and Kari Poore; a sister, Bettye Miller of Monroe Mich.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Gene Poore; and two sisters, Ann Brock and Mary Nafziger.
He attended Clyde High School; and was a 1961 Margaretta High School graduate. He retired Jan. 1, 1999 after 36 years at Ford Motor Company, Sandusky. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clyde and the Clyde Masonic Lodge.
Don enjoyed working on his antique cars and golfing with friends. He was a loving husband and wonderful father. His granddaughters were the light of his life and would brighten even his darkest days. Don was not only their grandpa, but also their biggest fan. He will be truly missed by many.
Visitation for family and friends will be 2-5 & 6-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Clyde, 620 Brown Street, Clyde, Ohio 43410.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014 at the church with Pastor Dan Duffy officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.
