Deborah Ann Spurck (Smith), 66, of Lakeside, formerly of Tiffin, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015, at 1:22 p.m. due to Alzheimer’s at Brookdale Assisted Living in Findlay surrounded by her family.
She was born Sept. 27, 1949, in Columbus to Donald and Millie (Vowels) Smith. She married Fred Spurck, Oct. 18, 1969, in Galion and he survives.
Survivors include her sister, Donna (Jim) Alexander of Sarasota, FL; and her son Nick (Michelle) Spurck, along with two grandchildren, Andrea and Emma both of Tiffin.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother.
Deborah was a 1967 graduate of Galion High School and then later attended The Ohio State University. She was active in the Seneca County Humane Society (SCHS) and served as president from 1996 to 2006. Deb organized the “Bingo Game” to raise funds to build the new SCHS building in its present location in 2005.
Deb loved her family, friends, animals and community. She also enjoyed fishing, boating and just being on Lake Erie.
Calling hours will be 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec.16, 2015, at Traunero Funeral Home 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419)- 447-3113. There will be no visitation on Thursday.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 2015, at the funeral home, with burial following at Broken Sword Cemetery. A reception will be from noon - 2:00 p.m. Friday, at Reino's Catering Room, 120 S. Washington Street, Tiffin.
Memorial contributions may be made to Seneca County Humane Society or to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of the funeral home.
