Dean John McLaughlin, 86, of Tiffin, died at 2:20 am Sunday, January 19, 2020, at his residence.
He was born January 24, 1933, in Carey, to Francis Casper and Lula M. (Mick) McLaughlin. He married Evelyn Pauline Schroeder and she died January 12, 1967, he then married Carmella Calabro May 10, 1968, in St. Mary Catholic Church. She died January 26, 2016.
Survivors include two sons, Gary McLaughlin of Tiffin and Denis (Lori Conley) McLaughlin of Helena; two daughters, Linda (Robert) Brose and Renee (John Leach) Maloy, both of Bucyrus; 6 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; and his dog, Peppi.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, a brother, Harold McLaughlin, and a sister Geneva Ford.
Mr. McLaughlin graduated from Carey High School and served in the US Air Force, as well as the Air Force Reserves. He was an Airman First Class and the crew chief on planes. He worked at Bendix in Fostoria from 1966-1992. Prior to that, he worked at National Lime and Stone in Carey. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church; and enjoyed boating, spending time on Middle Bass Island and photography
The Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 23, 2020, St. Mary Catholic Church. Rev. Matthew Rader will officiate. Military services by the United Veterans Council of Seneca County will follow at the end of Mass.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
