CHARLES OTTO "CHET" WELTY

Charles Otto (Chet) Welty, age 57, of Main St., Tiffin, died at 10:55 am, Saturday, November 26, 2005, at his residence. He was born March 15, 1948, in Tiffin, to the late Otto F. and Berneice M. (Strausbaugh) Welty.
Surviving are a son, Raymond (Juli) Frankart of Findlay; two daughters, Christina (Eric) Frankart-Distel of Tiffin, and Monica (Kevin) Anderson of Whitehouse; four grandchildren who loved Paw Paw Chet very much, Brandon Shook, Alecia Frankart, Caden Anderson, and Evan Anderson, and a grandchild on the way.
Also surviving are a brother, William Welty of Tiffin and a sister, Irene (Dwight) Mason of Republic. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, and one of man's best friends, his dog Crystal.
Chet was a 1967 graduate of Calvert High School and was a proud supporter of the fighting Senecas, also known as the Wave Master. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Calvert Boosters, Knights of Columbus, and the Moose Lodge. Chet worked for the CSX Transportation Railroad for more than 25 years. He enjoyed a regular round of golf, sports, bowling, and spending time with friends and family and a warm cup of coffee.
The funeral Mass will be 11 am, Thursday, December 1, 2005, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. James K. Say celebrating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 8 pm, Wednesday, Nov. 30, at the Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113. The Rosary will be recited in church at 10:45 am Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvert Foundation, St. Joseph
Church, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
