Charles E. McDonald, age 79 years, rural Tiffin, Ohio, died at 3:00 A.M. Friday, April 22, 2005, in Bethesda Care Center, Fremont, Ohio. He was born on January 2, 1926 in Liberty Township, Ohio to Virgil and Mildred (Mills) McDonald. They are deceased. On January 3, 1948, in Fort Seneca United Methodist Church, Ft. Seneca, Ohio, he married N. DeLean Stiger. She died on March 20, 1996.
Survivors include, 1 son, Christopher L. (Jane) McDonald of Lusby, Maryland; 2 grandchildren, Christen and Chad McDonald; 2 sisters, Arlene Mull of Cincinnati, Ohio and Audrey Beckman of Fremont, Ohio; 2 sisters-in-law, Jean A. Berlekamp of Green Springs, Ohio; and Myrna L. Riedel of Tiffin, Ohio.
Mr. McDonald served in the United States Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart and the Silver Star Awards. Mr. McDonald was a retired farmer in the Old Fort area. He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, the American Legion of Bettsville, Ohio and the Lions Club of Old Fort, Ohio, where he was Past President.
The Funeral Service will be conducted by Rev. James T. Mussman. Burial will take place immediately following the service in Pleasant Union Cemetery, Old Fort, Ohio. Contributions may be made to the Leukemia Foundation or to the ALS Foundation in care of the Traunero Funeral Home.
