Charles J. “Chuck” Snyder, 64, of Bettsville passed away at his residence on May 21, 2018 after suffering many years from heart disease.
Chuck was born October 1, 1953, in Tiffin to Robert A. and Edna Mae (Hamrick) Snyder.
Survivors include brothers Jim (Kate) Snyder of Bowling Green, Tom (Jeanie) Snyder of Tiffin, and Dick (Robin) Snyder of Scott Hills, Tenn., sisters Peg (Jim) Terry of Lexington, Tenn., Kathy (Bob) Free, of Tiffin, Deb Dodson, Woodbridge, VA, Sally (Mark) Wagner of Tiffin, Kay (Adam) Schmucker of Tiffin; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers, Bob Snyder and infant Robert Charles Snyder.
Chuck was a 1972 graduate of Calvert High School, and attended barber school. He was a barber/hairstylist for many years in Tiffin and Bowling Green, until he became disabled from his illness. He was a member of the Executive Committee of the Seneca County Democratic Party and also a member of Seneca Rising. He loved music, especially the Beatles, and was an avid drummer and played in many bands. He enjoyed his volunteer work with the Seneca County Democratic Party, kayaking, riding motorcycles, holding jam sessions, and spending time with his large family and his many friends. His most memorable times were spent with Allie, his dog of 17 years.
Friends may visit and share stories with the family from 6:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, May 31, 2018, at the Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, 419-447-3113, followed by a wake service at 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 10:00 am at St Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating, burial at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with a celebration of life luncheon will follow.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cleveland Clinic/helpingheartfund, Cleveland Clinic DVB, 9500 Euclid Ave, Cleveland, OH 44195 or to Emily’s Festival of Life Benefit (Chuck’s great niece) in need of a liver transplant in care of the funeral home.
