Chad Michael Benner, age 34 of rural Republic, died at 9:08 p.m., Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Mercy Hospital, Tiffin.
Chad was born to Dennis and Nancy (Hoover) Benner on July 11, 1975 in Tiffin. He married Amy Darby on October 28, 2000 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom.
Along with his parents and wife, Chad is survived by a son and daughter Blake and Maycee Benner, both at home; two brothers, Randy (Diane) Benner of Old Fort, and Jeremy (Becky) Benner of Tiffin; one sister, Renee Benner of Tiffin; parents-in-law, Steve and Diann Darby of Tiffin; a brother-in-law, Matt Darby of Columbus; and his grandmother-in-law, Jo Darby of New Albany, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Florence Benner, Clifford and Edith Hoover, David Darby and Paul and Marie Wilkinson.
Chad graduated from Bettsville High School in 1993. He was a journeyman electrician at Bromack Electric. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and being outdoors. Chad was a wonderful son, husband and father.
Family and friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday, June 6, 2010 with a wake service at 1:30 p.m. at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 South Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio, 44883, 419-447-3113.
Prayers will be said at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 7, 2010 at the funeral home, followed by the funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Gary Walters officiating. The rosary will be said 20 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will take place immediately following at St. Andrew Cemetery in Liberty Township.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Benner children in care of the funeral home.
