Catherine M. Steinmetz, 76 of Tiffin, died at 6 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.
She was born April 26, 1928 in Bellevue, to the late Peter and Edith (Ruffing) Fritz. On June 1, 1957, in St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Marywood, she married Harold M. Steinmetz. He survives.
A son, Bernie (Shelly) Steinmetz of Tiffin, and a brother, Donald Fritz of Bellevue also survive along with two grandchildren, Ryan and Brittany Steinmetz.
Mrs. Steinmetz was a homemaker. She was a 1946 graduate of Thompson High School. Her memberships included: St. Joseph Catholic Church, its Rosary Altar Society and American Legion Auxiliary, volunteered at Mercy Hospital and was active in St. Joseph festivals and area back sales. An avid card player, she was also an avid gardener and baker. She loved to travel and sew.
A Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 2004 in St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. James K. Say celebrating. the Rosary will be recited at 10:45 a.m. Friday in the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
