Betty Maxine Swartz, 86, of Tiffin, died at 2:30 pm Friday, March 27, 2015, at St. Francis Home.
She was born January 19, 1929, in Tiffin, to Jessie and Edna (Karcher) Swartz. She married Robert A. Gundlach October 29, 1946, in Tiffin, and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Daniel Gundlach of San Francisco, Calif., and Michael Gundlach of Fostoria; two grandchildren, Erich Gundlach and Erin Chandler; five great grandchildren; a brother, Fred Swartz of Tiffin; a half sister, Shirley (Verlin) Thacker of Tiffin; and two step brothers, Dennis (Amy) Turner of Tiffin and Robert (Janice) Turner of Stockton, Calif.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Gundlach, two brothers, Richard and Edward Swartz, and a sister, Laura Swartz.
Betty was a licensed practical nurse for many years, retiring from St. Francis Home. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 pm Monday, March 30, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419)447-3113. A wake service will be at 4:30 pm Monday.
Prayers will be said at 9:30 am Tuesday, March 31at the funeral home, followed by the funeral Mass at 10 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Rev. Kishore Kottana officiating. Burial will follow at Seneca Memory Gardens. The Rosary will be recited in church 20 minutes prior to Mass.
