Berdell E. Falter, age 83, of Tiffin, died at 6 am Friday, October 20, 2006, at his residence. He was born December 12, 1922, in Venice Township, to the late Clement and Clara (Wechter) Falter. On November 16, 1946, in St. Stephen’s Rectory, Bloomville, he married Twila A. Broede. She died July 13, 2001.
Surviving are two sons, Robert J. (Carol) Falter and Daniel L. (Kathy) Falter, both of Republic; one daughter, Bonita L. “Bonnie” (Dennis) Shawberry of Tiffin; eight grandchildren, two step grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; two brothers, Alfred Falter and Virgil Falter, both of Tiffin; one sister, Bernadine Schaffer of Norwalk.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Leonard, Eugene, Cyrill, & Gerald Falter; two sisters, Marcella Hippler and Bernadette Holmer.
Mr. Falter retired after 35 years as a heavy equipment operator for France Stone Company, Bloomville. He worked part-time for eleven years for Ken Crabill and was a life-long farmer. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He enjoyed his special moments with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be 10 am, Monday, October 23, 2006, at St. Mary Catholic Church, with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday, Oct. 22, from 3 to 6 pm, at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113. The Rosary will be recited in church fifteen minutes prior to Mass on Monday.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary Capital Campaign or Community Hospice Care.
