Benjamin John Hess, age 26, of Prospect St., Tiffin, died at 4:35 pm, Saturday, December 31, 2005, at St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
He was born October 22, 1979, in Tiffin, to John D. and Victoria R. (Stahl) Hess, who both survive in Tiffin.
Also surviving are two brothers, Alvin and David Hess, both at home; a sister, Kristina Hess of Tiffin; paternal grandmother, Gertrude Hess of Tiffin; maternal grandfather, Alvin W. Stahl of Attica; a nephew, Gaige Hess of Tiffin; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Dewane Hess, and maternal grandmother, Madelyn Stahl.
Mr. Hess was a 1998 Columbian High School graduate, and had worked at Arby’s Restaurant in Tiffin. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, the National Bowling League, and he was an avid bowler, loving to bowl with his buddies, Neil, Brad, and Louie. He was also an avid NASCAR fan, along with his buddy, Mark. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am, Wednesday, January 4, 2006, at Our Lady of Hope Caholic Church, Attica, with Rev. Joseph Szybka celebrating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Tiffin. Friends may call Tuesday, January 3, from 2 to 8 pm, at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419)447-3113. There will be a Wake Service at 3:30 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral Mass Wednesday at the Church.
