Benjamin D. Bish, age 26, of Rudolph, Ohio, died at 10:35 pm, Friday, May 18, 2007, as the result of a motorcycle accident in Weston, Wood County, Ohio.
Ben was born June 13, 1980, in Tiffin, to David and Connie (Lucius) Bish, and they survive in Tiffin.
He is also survived by the loves of his life, Lindsay Smith and their daughter, Hannah Bish. Other survivors include two sisters, Amber (Doug) Kuhn of Fostoria and Ashley (Jason Solomon) Bish of Tiffin; one brother, Zachary Bish of Tiffin and currently serving in the United States Marine Corps in Southern California; his grandmothers, Rose Acree of Tiffin and Wilma Bish of Bloomville; and five nieces and nephews. Ben’s grandfathers, Louis Paul Lucius and Theodore Bish are deceased.
Ben and his fiancé Lindsay, were in the process of fulfilling their dream of building a house together. Ben cherished the precious time spent with Lindsay and their beautiful daughter, Hannah. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family and had joined his parents, Grandma Rose, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins at a cookout on Mother’s Day. Ben also relished the family’s last vacation together when they visited his brother Zach to celebrate his graduation from the United States Marine Corps boot camp in Parris Island, South Carolina.
Ben was a 1998 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and was an equipment operator and supervisor for the Northwestern Water and Sewer District in Bowling Green, Ohio. In his free time, he enjoyed walleye fishing, working on the new house, and following his favorite teams, the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Browns, and University of Miami Hurricanes.
Ben, with his cheerful personality and upbeat attitude, was a great family member and friend who will be truly missed. Ben will live on in others through the donation of his tissues and organs.
A funeral Mass celebrating Ben’s life will be 11 am Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, with Rev. David Ross officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, May 22, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 pm, at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419)447-3113. There will be a Wake Service at 8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rosary will be recited in church fifteen minutes prior to Mass on Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to the family or toward the education of Hannah Bish.
