Barbie L. “Bob” Cummings, age 70, of 397 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio, died at 6:40 p.m. Friday, July 29, 2004 in Grant Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. He was born on March 31, 1934 in Sias, West Virginia to John Clyde and Madonnie (Neal) Cummings. On June 11, 1966 he married Kathy Harrington in Tiffin. She survives.
Other survivors include, 2 sons, Kevin (Deborah) Cummings of Tiffin; and Terry Cummings of Tiffin; 2 daughters, Deanna (Curt) Knutson of Tiffin and Laura (David) Fitch of Tiffin; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Lonnine (Reva) Cummings, of Hamlin West Virginia, Charles (Betty) Cummings of Huntington, West Virginia. He is preceded by 2 brothers, Beachard and Roger Cummings and 1 sister, Jo Emma Cummings.
Mr. Cummings had been a chef for 35 years. He had worked at ARA Slater Foods at Heidelberg College for 10 years, then at various local restaurants and retired from the Evergreen Restaurant in Upper Sandusky. He had served in the United States Navy on the USS Great Sitkin as a chef. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Tiffin. He enjoyed sports, gardening and fishing.
Rev. Richard Hofmann will officiate the funeral service at the funeral home. Burial will take place immediately following the funeral service in Fairmont Cemetery with a Military Graveside Service by the United Veteran’s Council of Seneca County.
