Arthur R. Schank, 85, of E. TR 8, Tiffin, Ohio made his journey to Heaven at 5:45 a.m. Friday, January 8, 2010 at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin, Emergency Room. He was born to the late Amel John and Rose (Wise) Schank on April 1, 1924 in Norwich Township, Huron County, Ohio. He married Rita Kummerer, August 17, 1946 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin and she survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Harold (Dianne) Schank, Ron (Sue) Schank all of Tiffin, Albert ( Maureen) Schank of Black Hawk, Colo.; three daughters, Kathleen (Donald) Weaver of Republic, Marie (Kenneth) Schroth and Barb (Gene C.) Goshe all of Tiffin; nine grandsons, five granddaughters, one step granddaughter, nine great grandchildren, and seven step great grandchildren.
He is preceded by his parents, two sisters, Martha Daniel and Loretta Dendinger; six brothers, Herbert, Leon, Leonard, Ralph, Clarence and Anthony.
Arthur attended Bloody Corners and Reed Assumption Schools. He retired after 36 years as a petroleum truck driver for Landmark/Rural Serv. He was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a devoted family man.
There will be private family visitation.
The funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m., Monday, January 11, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church officiated by Rev. Joseph Szybka. The rosary will be recited 20 minutes prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will take place immediately following in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
