Arthur E. Steinmetz, age 90, of 686 S. Sandusky Street, Tiffin, Ohio, died Friday, January 2, 2004 at 3:25 P.M. He was born to Edward and Mary J. (Goetz) Steinmetz on January 29, 1913 in Tiffin. He married Margaret Kirian on June 16, 1937 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Alvada, Ohio. She died on December 25, 1997.
Survivors include, 3 sons, Richard (Andrea) Steinmetz of Phoenix, AZ; Gerald (Angie) Steinmetz of Tiffin; and Bill Steinmetz of Tiffin;
4 daughters, Donna Steinmetz of Youngstown, Ohio; Joyce Cascaden of Apache Junction, AZ; Betty (Pete) Miles, Spartanburg, SC and Patricia (Glenn) Hall of Tiffin, Ohio; 16 Grandchildren, and 15 Great Grandchildren; 1 brother, Robert Steinmetz of Woodville, Ohio; and 3 sisters, Helen Schalk of New Riegel, Mildred Stark, of Tiffin; and Beatrice Miller of Sycamore, Ohio. He was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Schalk, and 4 brothers, Ralph, Irvin, Eugene, and Herman Steinmetz; a great grandchild, Miles Roper; and a son-in-law, Jack Cascaden.
Mr. Steinmetz was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and he had retired in 1978 as a forklift operator for Whirlpool Corporation in Clyde, and he also had been a farmer.
There will be a parish wake service at the funeral home on Sunday at 3:30 P.M. The Rosary will be recited in church 15 minutes prior to the Funeral Mass on Monday.
