Annette L. (Walker) Walter, age 85, passed away on April 10, 2004 in Columbus, Ohio. Beloved wife of the late John R.Walter; loving mother of Pamela (Christopher) Metcalf, Susan (Eric) Busch, and John (Patti Kerivan) Walter; devoted grandmother of Karl (Lindsay) Busch, Thomas Metcalf, Kathryn (William) Bulman, Katherine Kerivan, Daniel and Michael Walter; dear friend of former daughter-in-law Anne Walter; cherished aunt of Cindy (Dave Freeman) Walker and David (Sue) Walker; and dear sister-in-law of Pat (William) Walker. Born on February 15, 1919 in Aurora, Illinois to the late David and Edith Walker, and preceded in death by her two brothers, William and Bruce Walker. The family extends its’ heartfelt gratitude to her daughter Susan and son-in-law Eric Busch for their loving devotion to her care, comfort, and happiness as they opened their hearts and home in Columbus to her when her illness was diagnosed in 2000. Annette lived in Tiffin, Ohio for 50 years, raised three children in whose education she was actively involved, was a devoted employee of United Insurance Service for 20 years, and was a 50 year member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. She was recognized for her extraordinary volunteer service by the Tiffin Advertiser-Tribune in 1996, which included the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library, Autumnwood Care Center, Mercy Hospital, Hospice, the Betty Jane Center Preschool, St. Paul’s U.M. Church, and the Ritz Theater. Upon moving to Westerville, Ohio, she became a volunteer at Columbus Colony for the Deaf, a tutor in the “Westerville Reads” school program and a volunteer at St. Ann’s Hospital, joined the Westerville Community United Church of Christ, and became a proud member of the Red Hat Society. The memory of her zest for life, generosity, creativity, volunteerism, love of reading, and devotion to her family will never be forgotten. Private burial service will be at Greenlawn Cemetery. A public memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2004 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Tiffin, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library, 77 Jefferson St., Tiffin, OH 44883.
