Anna M. Thome, 91, formerly of 38 Johnson St., Tiffin, Ohio, died at 7:05 PM, Saturday, April 17, 2004, at Autumnwood Care Center, Tiffin, where she was a resident for the last 3 ½ years and received loving care.
She was born to the late Joseph and Anna (Vonderchek) Posavad in Cleveland, Ohio, on October 7, 1912. She married Paul J. Thome on May 28, 1935, and he died April 1, 1972.
They owned “Paul’s Cafe” in Greensprings, Ohio from 1947 to 1953. She resided in Tiffin as a homemaker for many years and enjoyed music and fishing.
Surviving are a daughter, Nancy Thome of Tiffin; sons, Gerald and wife Pat of Fremont, Frank and wife Marcia of Concord, California; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; goddaughters, Janis Kirby of Tiffin and Ann Kauble of Clyde; special friends, June Lee, Eileen Huss, and Gertrude Muehlbronner, all of Tiffin.
She is also survived by a sister, Margaret Long of Willoughby, Ohio, and a brother, Paul Posavad of Wickliffe, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Gardner, brothers, Joseph, Anthony, and John Posavad, all of Cleveland.
There will be a Memorial Mass at 11:30 am Saturday, April 24, 2004, at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Rev. Timothy Ferris celebrating. Private burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Autumnwood Chapel or Alzheimers Fund, St. Mary’s Church, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
