Anna Cecilia Rochester, age 89, formerly of 210 Wentz Street, Tiffin, Ohio, died at 11:10 A.M. Saturday, July 10, 2004 at St. Francis Home, Tiffin. She was born on November 19, 1914 to Leander and Elizabeth (Gase) Strausbaugh.
Survivors include 6 sons, Richard (Shirley) Rochester of rural Tiffin; James Rochester of Fostoria; Ronald (Elizabeth) Rochester of Tiffin; David Rochester of Tiffin; Thomas (Bonita) Rochester of Tiffin; Joseph (Karen) Rochester of Tiffin; 2 daughters, Marjorie Conner of Tiffin; and Judith (Edward) Row of Bettsville, Ohio; 27 Grandchildren; 17 Great Grandchildren; 2 sisters, Lillian Zimmerman of Gibsonburg, Ohio and Clara(James) Zirger of Tiffin. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Pat Rochester; a brother, John Strausbaugh; a sister Hilda Strausbaugh; 3 grandchildren, Paul Row, and Stephanie & Carrie Lynn Rochester; and 2 great grandchildren, Angie Conner and Christian Rochester Beck.
Mrs. Rochester was a homemaker and had also worked at General Electric Company, Tiffin from 1953-1980. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin the G.E. Retirees Club and the Seneca Rose Grandmother’s Club. She attained her GED in 1985 at age 71.
Rev. David M. Ross will celebrate the funeral Mass with burial in the parish cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Home Chiara Center, Community Hospice Care, or to a charity of the Donor’s Choice.
