Alma M. Steyer, age 85 years old, formerly of 55 Oakwood Drive, Tiffin, Ohio died at 9:55 a.m. Saturday, February, 7, 2004 at St. Francis Home, Tiffin.
She was born in Bascom, Ohio to Peter and Nettie (Hoepf) Kuhn on November 8, 1918. They do not survive. She married Arthur Steyer on August, 29, 1942 in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, in Bascom. He died on March 28, 1991.
Other survivors include, 6 sons, Anthony (Kathleen) Steyer; Bernard (Jean) Steyer; Robert (Beverly) Steyer; James ( Jenny ) Steyer; Stephen (Pat) Steyer all of ruralTtiffin and Fred (Rhea) Steyer of Gilbert, Arizona; 4 daughters, Mary (Fred) Schalk of New Riegel; Jane Harple of Sandusky; Linda (Michael) Nijakowski of Toledo; and Donna (John) Faeth of Alvada; 26 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 sister, Rita Tiell of New Riegel. She is preceded by 4 brothers, Charles, Bernard, Edmund and Clarence Kuhn; and 4 sisters, Agnes, Mary Louise, and Germain Kuhn, and Frances Podach a son-in-law Ron Harple and a great granddaughter.
Mrs. Steyer was a homemaker and co- owner of Steyer Farms and Seeds. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, the Rosary Altar Society, New Riegel Moose and the Old Fort Flames.She volunteered at Mercy Hospital with the sewing guild. She loved her children, grandchildren and gardening.
Rev. Thomas Ankenbrandt will officate the Funeral Mass. Burial will be immediately following the Mass in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetey. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chiara Center Activity Funds, Old Fort Flames, and the Old Fort School and its library fund in care of Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S.
