Alice Martha Siegle, 80, of rural New Riegel, died at 9:31 am Sunday, October 27, 2019, at Mercy Health Tiffin Hospital.
Alice was born February 25, 1939, in Seneca County to Louis and Pauline (Wank) Lucius. She married Emil H. Siegle, Jr. July 4, 1959, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Riegel and he survives.
Other survivors include a son, Peter (Victoria) Siegle of Brenham, Texas; three daughters, Penny Martin, Phyllis (Michael) Page and Mary (Timothy) Milazzo, all of Tiffin; six grandchildren, Cecilia (Brian) Guetter, Tony (Toni Ann) Siegle, Kristy (Trey) Garcia, Ryan (Amanda) Martin, Maxine Milazzo, and Marco Milazzo; six great-grandchildren, Lexi, Jordyn, Addy, Ella, Bella, and baby Garcia, expected in April; two brothers, Marion (Alma) Lucius, Herman (Pat) Lucius both of Tiffin; two sisters, Rose Mary (Doug) Brown of Norwalk and Helen Ring of Parma Heights.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Louis Lucius, Eugene Lucius, Leo Lucius, Virgil Lucius, Joseph Lucius; a grandson, Billy Martin; and a sister-in-law, Rose Acree.
Alice was a 1957 graduate of New Riegel High School and was proud to be a farmer’s wife. She also worked maintenance at Heidelberg University for 22 years retiring in 2005, and was a member of the All Saints Parish, New Riegel, New Riegel American Legion Auxiliary, Mohawk Lionesses former member. After retirement she became a taxi driver for all her grandchildren. Alice enjoyed making pineapple cheesecake, cherry delight and carrying on her mom’s tradition of making angel food cake for family birthdays. She was an avid viewer of the Young and the Restless and QVC. She passed a joy of reading to her children. She was a friend to most and mom to all. Alice had a bright smile and quick wit.
Visitation for family and friends will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2019, at the Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-3113.
Prayers will be said at 9:50 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2019, at the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at All Saints Parish, New Riegel with Rev. Timothy Kummerer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery, New Riegel.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
