Alfred L. Kirian, age 87, of Leitner Avenue, Tiffin, Ohio died at 5:45pm Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at St. Francis Home, Tiffin. Alfred was born to the late Urban and Agnes (Werling) Kirian on June 9, 1921 in Seneca County. On May 6, 1944, he married Eileen M. Troup in St. Joseph Catholic Church and she preceded him in death on August 14, 1992.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann (Charles) Payne of Tiffin and Kay (David) Young of Delta, Ohio; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister Helen L. Miller of Tiffin; brother John (Elva) Kirian of Republic; and brother-in-law Robert Hartzell of Tiffin.
Mr. Kirian was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Hartzell; a brother, Lewis Kirian; a brother-in-law, Harold Miller, and a sister-in-law, Grace Kirian.
Alfred was a retired Mixer at Sterling Grinding and also performed carpentry work. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Tiffin.
A Funeral Mass will be at 1pm on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at St. Mary Catholic Church. The Rosary will be recited 15 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will be immediately following in St. Mary Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm on Friday, August 15, 2008 at Traunero Funeral Home 214 S. Monroe Street Tiffin, Ohio 44883 419-447-3113. A Wake Service will be on Friday at 3:30pm at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Home or to Community Hospice Care in care of Traunero Funeral Home.
